Godliness with contentment is great gain. 1 Timothy 6:6
This word is one that has been a constant in my walk with the Lord for quite a long while. Don't misunderstand, that does not mean that for a long while I have been totally content in every circumstance I live in, but that I have made this my life goal.
The search has not been in vain. I'm glad to say that I have discovered a very deep measure of contentment in Jesus. That my joy in the Lord remains strong at all times. It has not always been this way. The journey from where the Lord found me to where I live in Him now has been a lengthy matter of process and applying lessons learned from trial and error. I would add, quite a few trials and quite a few errors. But I will share that every difficult season taught me more about our Father's mercy and greatness over all things pertaining to life and godliness. Every lesson learned through fiery trials has brought me a new measure of peace and contentment. Each new crisis drove me closer to my source and as I kept running to him I learned over an extended period of time that the real presence of Jesus and His living word in my life is the only thing that brings true satisfaction. It brought me to place in which nothing could interfere with my search for Him.
As we grow in grace we are equipped to cast off our love of worldly mindsets and to submit to His transformational love and disciplines. Gradually we begin to realize the truth of the deep contentment scripture promises. There is no way to measure the worth of a right relationship with the Almighty Creator of all and the source of all good things, the lover of our souls and the healer of our wounded hearts. Above all I wish for you, I wish and hope you come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, Lord and Master..May it be so, Father!
