Lord, let there be dust on my Bible, but not where it laid on a shelf in neglect.

The dust of life’s road, where faith’s seeds been sewed, as I sought to carry it as you would direct.

Let the pages be worn and be tattered then, from the many a time they been viewed;

for all wears and tatters, what all the more matters was that each time in passing a soul was renewed.

Lord, let there be dust on my Bible, then, from faithfully where it’s been carried;

that the way that I live, ever evidence give, when it came to my witness I’ve never once tarried.
